Introduction
The WP12 is a Weichai Blue Power engine series with outputs from 276 to 360 kW and torque up to 2,300 N·m, available in Euro II to Euro VI versions. It is used in 6×4 tractors for medium- and long-haul mixed transport.
Features
High reliability
- Frame-type block with dry cylinder liners and a heavily reinforced design: more than 45,000 hours of cumulative bench testing and more than 50 million km of vehicle road testing.
Low noise and vibration
- Idle noise of 81 dB(A); the drum-shaped block skirt is strong and low in vibration, which greatly reduces noise.
- Rear gear train with high-precision scissor gears runs steadily and further reduces mechanical noise.
- Multiple-injection technology significantly reduces combustion noise.
Low fuel consumption
- Minimum fuel consumption of 183 g/(kW·h), achieved with optimized combustion, a revised camshaft profile, a high-efficiency turbocharger and other high-efficiency components.
- The economical low-speed range covers the common operating speeds of 1,000-1,400 r/min.
Powerful
- Torque up to 2,300 N·m for strong acceleration.
- The available power allows a smaller rear-axle ratio, for road speeds up to 120 km/h.
Altitude capability
- No derating at 3,500 m altitude, and less than 5% power loss at rated speed at 4,100 m.
