A new-generation Weichai engine meeting Euro V/VI emission standards and the successor to the WP10, used in 6×4 tractors.
Features
High reliability
- Heavily reinforced design with a large safety margin: more than 15,000 hours of bench testing and more than 50 million km of road testing.
- Service life above 1.8 million km or 30,000 hours.
Modular design
- Integrated modules cut the part count by more than 30%.
- Fuel filter module combines the primary and fine filters.
- Oil filter module combines the oil filter, oil cooler, centrifugal filter and coolant filter.
- One-piece cylinder head with an integrated intake manifold keeps the engine compact.
Lightweight design
- Complete engine weighs just 815 kg, optimized by CAE analysis without giving up strength or reliability.
- Plastic and aluminum-alloy parts are used widely: flywheel housing, water pump, oil pan, rocker cover, intake pipe and more.
Intelligent control
- Weichai's own ECU, developed in-house, with fast, high-precision air-system control.
- Multi-level control strategy for overall performance.
Low noise and vibration
- Noise below 96 dB(A) at 1 m at the rated power point; the drum-shaped block skirt is strong and low in vibration, which greatly reduces noise.
- Rear gear train with high-precision scissor gears runs steadily and further reduces mechanical noise.
- Multiple-injection technology significantly reduces combustion noise.
Low fuel consumption
- Minimum fuel consumption of 181 g/(kW·h).
- The economical low-speed range covers the typical operating speeds of 950-1,450 r/min.
Powerful
- The series reaches 294 kW rated power, 1,900 N·m maximum torque and a specific torque of 200 N·m/L.
- A smaller rear-axle ratio can be used without loss of performance, further reducing fuel consumption.
High braking power
- WCBS in-cylinder braking with 226 kW of braking power at rated speed (23.8 kW/L).
- A 630 L/min high-output air compressor meets heavy-duty air demand.
Adaptability
- No power loss at 2,800 m altitude, and very low power loss at 4,500 m under typical operating conditions.
- Starts reliably at -20°C.
